Being animals camp afternoon camp for preschool through rising first graders

2024 Information

Note: This camp is run by Brookwood School, with Kestrel as a program partner. Signup is through Brookwood’s site.

In this enchanted wildlife camp for little explorers, we will magically turn into a different local animal each afternoon. We will read and tell stories, play movement games, and find friends, food, and homes as our animals. Finally, we will go off in search of our fellow creatures! If your young child loves being in nature, they will find something to enjoy at this camp. Our staff understand that every child’s introduction to the natural world is different, and we build a culture at our camp that allows for them to be themselves, and pursue what interests them. We anticipate this camp being fully outdoors except in the case of dangerous weather conditions.

Our location at Brookwood School allows us to explore fields, woods, and brooks. We’ve found the site is a perfect place to discover salamanders and frogs, birds and turtles.. We love face painting our campers as the animal of the day and giving them choices on how to move and how to delve into their own curiosity about their animals. Group games and story time include lots of movement and lots of imagaination.

This camp must comply with regulations of the Massachusetts Department of Public Health and is licensed by the local board of health
